Kaduna community seeks N218m to rebuild 109 houses destroyed in attack

Residents of Bakin Kogi Kaninkon in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State have appealed to Nigerians to assist in rebuilding the 109 houses destroyed during an attack on the community in 2017.

The chairman of Bakin Kogi Relief Committee, Zubairu Yohanna, made the appeal yesterday while conducting the Executive Director of Care and Action Research (Care-NGO), Mrs Joy Dogo, round the affected houses.

According to him, N218million was needed to rebuild the affected houses recalling that 15 people were killed and about 3,000 rendered homeless as a result of the attack.  

He appreciated the NGO and other well-meaning Nigerians for supporting the affected people particularly with food and clothing.

Mrs Dogo who donated clothes and food items to the victims explained to the Chief of Kaninkon, Malam Tanko Tete, that the donation was pooled together by Care-NGO and Dr Freeman Kamuru who is the United States chapter President of Southern Kaduna in Diaspora.

Malam Tete thanked the NGO for the support and appealed to other Nigerians to also render help to the victims.
