Justice Dairus Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court on Tuesday sentenced a businessman, Mohammed Rabiu, to six years imprisonment over a N20 million fraud after he pleaded guilty and begged for leniency.

He also ordered the convict to restitute N20m to the complainant, Jamil Hassan, and added that in the event that the convict failed to pay the amount he would serve an additional year in prison.

Earlier, the EFCC prosecutor, E. K. Garba, told the court that sometime in 2020 the convict deceived Sani into giving him N20m to start a car business and promised to pay back in one year.
