Chief Executive Officer of Routes and Roads Transport Company, Geoffrey Faasema, the organisers of the First Kaduna Automobile and Exhibition Fair, says the fair will expose problems of Nigerian automobile industry with a view to reviving the sector.
He spoke during a press briefing in Kaduna, weekend, saying that the fair was organised by the Kaduna State Government, Federal Ministry of Trade and Commerce and National Chambers of Commerce Industry, Mines and Agriculture and Kaduna Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture.
He said: “The automotive industry is a major industrial and economic force, worldwide, contributing 60m cars and trucks each year and responsible for almost half the world’s consumption of oil and gas. The industry employs 4m people directly and indirectly worldwide.”
He said that the fair would bring together over 60 local motor vehicle and spare parts manufacturers, dealers, automobile engineers, mechanics, manufacturers and dealers of motor accessories to Kaduna.
