Kaduna Assembly passes Financial Autonomy bill

Kaduna State House of Assembly on Thursday passed its financial autonomy bill.

The Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr. Nuhu Shadalafiya, said the passage of the bill will give the state assembly easy access to funding of programmes and activities of the state legislature.

“It will help checkmate bottle-necks associated with bureaucracy as well as give members of the assembly the opportunity to showcase their constituency very well in terms of town hall meetings, reports gathering as well as committees in the assembly who will have funds as at when due to carry out their administrative works,” he said.

The Deputy Speaker added that the financial autonomy will help in building the capacity of the legislature, its staff and management as well as those on adhoc assignment in the assembly.
