Kaduna APC Primaries: Court throws out Sha’aban’s suit against Uba Sani

A Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna has dismissed the suit challenging the emergence of Senator Uba Sani as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.

Sani Sha’aban, one of the aspirants who sought the ruling party’s ticket, had kicked  against the victory of Sani.

Sha’aban challenged the method used in the primary election that produced Sani.

He claimed that there was manipulation, alleging that the list of the delegates was substituted from the wards and local government.

Daily Trust reports that the ruling was to be delivered on Monday, 31st October, 2020, but was adjourned to Thursday.

It was, however, adjourned again by one day as the judgement was said not to be ready.

In his ruling, the presiding judge, Justice Mohammed Garba Umar, held that the court lacked the jurisdiction to deliver judgement in the said matter.

Our correspondent reports that the courtroom and the court premises were full to the brim as security agents, including men of the Department of State Security (DSS) and the Nigerian Police Force, ensured there was no breakdown of law and order.
