Seven of the 17 family members that were abducted at Gonar Lema, a few kilometres from Udawa village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have regained their freedom.
Head of the family Yakubu Gurmi, who confirmed their release to Daily Trust, said they returned on Wednesday around 8 pm.

“Yes, the nursing mother Abigail, her infant, and four other minors returned home around 8 pm on Wednesday safely.
“The bandits allowed them to go just to inform us to raise N15 million as ransom for the remaining 10 people in their custody,” he said.
Mr Gurmi said one other victim, who escaped from his captives, also returned home on Thursday (yesterday) evening, saying “I now have 10 members of my family still with the bandits.”
It was gathered that the nursing mother, Abigail, has been taken to a hospital in Udawa for medical attention due to trauma.
Daily Trust reported on Monday how the 17 family members were attacked and abducted around 7 am on Saturday while they were on their way to the farm.
One of them, Omega, who was shot in the mouth died at the hospital in Birnin Gwari on Tuesday, 15 September, while his two sisters Baby and Blessing are still in hospital.
Contacted, the police command could not confirm the release of the seven victims.
