A 52-year old civil servant, Mohammed Lawal Ahmed, has been arrested for allegedly defiling an eleven years old boy (name withheld) in Kaduna state.

Daily Trust gathered that the suspect committed the act on December 14, at about 0900hours at his house located at  CU2, Ikara road, Sabon-Gari, Tudun-wada, Kaduna South local government area of the state.

The details of the act committed by the suspect were contained in a statement sent to a Magistrate Court 8, Kawo, Kaduna, by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The civil defence stated that the  suspect used stipends and sweets to lure his victim to his house and repeatedly inserted his finger into  his anus adding that it was the boy’s mother  that raised an alarm which led to his arrest after she  discovered some strange signs from her son.

When Daily Trust enquired further, the Commissioner, Kaduna State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Hafsat Baba, confirmed the incident, saying the law must take its course.

She said it is unfortunate that a man, who has his wife and children could do such a thing to other people’s children.

“The matter is now before a Magistrate Court. As it is, the court will decide his fate but, the ministry will follow it up to its logical conclusion.

“All forms of indecent treatment and gross indecency against our children in Kaduna must stop especially now that we have laws in place to bring anyone caught perpetrating any violence against children in the state to book,” she said.
