The 13 villagers who were kidnapped 62 days ago from their residences at Unguwar Liman, Gwada ward of Igabi LGA of Kaduna State have been freed by their abductors.
They were part of the 30 abducted in the community in December 2023.
Daily Trust recalls that the kidnappers collected N6.5 million with the agreement to release all the victims but ended up releasing only 17 and demanded an additional N16 million for the others.
The remaining 13 people were released last Saturday after payment of ransom, Malam Jafaru Anaba, a community leader, whose relations were among those released, confirmed told Daily Trust on Monday.
