The Kaduna State Residents Registration Agency (KADSRRA) has urged the people of Southern Kaduna and the state to register for the permanent residency card, cautioning that those who fail to register may be denied access to government social intervention programmes and facilities.
The Executive Secretary of KADSRRA, Dr Elizabeth Joshua Ndonah, who gave the caution at a-one-day sensitisation programme for District Heads in Southern Kaduna at Jema’a Local Government chamber in Kafanchan said the residents’ registration exercise was meant to create a reliable database of all residents in the state.

- 23,000 vulnerable women, youths to get jobs in Kaduna
Dr. Ndonah said this would provide government with useful data to aid effective planning, security management and judicious allocation of resources in such a manner as to meet the critical needs of the people in the state.
She said the essence of the sensitisation programme was to meet and update the district heads in the area on the activities of the agency during the COVID-19 period and the roles expected of them to play towards ensuring the successful execution of the exercise in the rural communities.
She, therefore, encouraged residents whether or not they are indigenes, to register with their children at the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) in their respective council headquarters, adding that the commission would in turn furnish the state with the data in which the permanent residency card would be issued.
Earlier, the Chairman, Jema’a LGA, Peter Danjuma Averik, said the council would spare no efforts in ensuring that the people are affectively mobilised to register and obtain the permanent residency card. Averik, who was represented by the council secretary, Amos Sama’ila, lauded KADSRRA for embarking on an aggressive sensitisation programme, noting that majority of the people were still in the dark about the exercise and its importance to their general well-being.
