Tinubu returns to Nigeria after UK trip

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the party’s presidential hopeful, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has returned to the country from his short trip to London.

Tinubu had left for London on January 28 for what his aides called overseas rest.

He however returned to the country Sunday night to end speculations about the reason for jetting out of the country in the first place.

Tinubu Support Group (TSG) confirmed the return of the APC leader Sunday night on its Facebook Page.

His private jet touched down at the EAN Private Hangar inside the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) on Sunday evening.

Tinubu had during his short stay in London held a meeting with the APC, United Kingdom Branch, as part of his consultation ahead of his formal declaration for the Presidency of Nigeria.

He had earlier informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his intention to succeed him.

This has been generating mixed reactions with a section of Nigerians asking him not to contest.

Sources said Tinubu would continue his nationwide consultations ahead of his formal declaration later this year.
