Barely 24 hours after the proscription of the Mukaila Lamidi (Auxillary)-led Disciplinary Committee of Oyo State Motor Park Management System, pandemonium has broken out at Olodo, Iyana Church, Alakia, Isebo, and Iwo Road areas of Ibadan.
Sources disclosed that some men unleashed mayhem on commuters and some members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the early hours of Tuesday.
Recall that the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde had ordered the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System headed by Auxillary, few hours after his inauguration for second term.
The newly reppointed Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi, made this disclosure in a statement few hours after his appointment.

Why I rejected Ibori’s candidate as my successor – Okowa
Noting that the dissolution is with immediate effect, Ogunwuyi said: “I have the directive of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to inform you of the dissolution of the Disciplinary Committee, Park Management System (PMS) with immediate effect from today, Monday, 29th May, 2023.”
The mayhem which occurred across a number of parks could have been instigated by the proscription of the PMS as sources claim that Auxillary threatened to cause unrest in the state after he was sent packing together with the PMS arrangement.
The attackers who shot sporadically were said to be gang members of Auxillary who is reportedly on the run.
Auxiliary and his boys had allegedly engaged security agents in a gun duel, resulting in commotion.
Our correspondent gathered that one person was killed, while many vehicles were destroyed. It was learnt that some of Auxillary boys had been arrested.
There are claims that Auxilliary and his PMS boys had attacked some members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, (NURTW), who had also followed the governor from the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, venue of the inauguration, to his house.
An eyewitness who spoke to Daily Trust said: “ We had followed the governor’s train from the stadium to his residence at Ikolaba, the mood was joyous until Auxillary and some of his boys started beating some men of the NURTW. This happened right in front of the governor’s house and I think this is why the governor sacked him.”
According to the eyewitness, security operatives had to intervene before calm was restored.
