A resident, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, told Daily Trust that among the victims were two sons of the community leader.
According to him, the armed men raided many houses during the operation.
“Most of the people in the community were not aware of the bandits’ presence in the village because they didn’t fire shots during the operation.”
“They picked two sons of our community leader and other residents, including three housewives, before fleeing,” he said.
When contacted, the state public relation Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige, promised to call back but had not done so as of the time of filing this report.
