Security has been beefed up at the premises of the National Assembly on Wednesday, Daily Trust can report.
Our correspondent who is on ground observed an unusual presence of some armed soldiers manning strategic positions at the federal legislature.
Before Wednesday, it is usually men of the Nigeria Police, the Civil Defence as well as the National Assembly security, sergeant-at-arms that were deployed around the promises.
But the presence of armed soldiers on Wednesday, numbering about 10, appears to be unusual.
Our correspondent reports that two armed soldiers were seen manning one of the entrance gates, while one each was placed at the car parks of both Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker Yakubu Dogara.
Others were spread across different locations of the National Assembly.
It was also observed that the number of policemen has been increased at the National Assembly premises.
