The Second Niger Bridge has been renamed after President Muhammadu Buhari following its commissioning on Tuesday.
The Special Assistant on Digital Communications to the President, Bashir Ahmad, disclosed this via his Twitter handle, @BashirAhmaad.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it is official, we now have MUHAMMADU BUHARI BRIGE (sic).
“BREAKING: The Second Niger Bridge is to officially be called/known as MUHAMMADU BUHARI SECOND NIGER BRIDGE,” he wrote.

Also, Special Assistant to the President on Digitial and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi, confirmed the renaming of the bridge after Buhari through his handle, @toluogunlesi
He, however, said the renaming was subject to the approval of the South East governors and other stakeholders.
“It shall now be known officially, with the approval of the SE Governors and other stakeholders, as the Muhammadu Buhari Bridge (MMB),” he tweeted.
