Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has sworn in the eldest son of late Mai Tangale as a commissioner.

Christopher Abdu Maisheru, son of the late monarch, was sworn in alongside Idris Abdullahi Kwami and Abubakar Aminu Musa, after their screening and confirmation by the Gombe State House of Assembly.

Maisheru was assigned to the Ministry of Special Duties; Idris Kwami was posted to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, while Musa was assigned to the Ministry of Youth development.

The governor had earlier sacked former Commissioners of Health, Dr Ahmed Gana, Alhassan Kwami (Information and Culture) and Mela Nunghe (Special Duties).

In his remarks, Governor Yahaya said the new appointments were based on track records, dedication to service and positive contributions towards the development of the state.

He, therefore, urged the appointees to work tirelessly with view to ensuring effective implementation of government’s policies and programmes.

The governor also called on people of the state to continue to support the government, “in its continued efforts to provide socio-economic infrastructural facilities to improve the well-being of our people.”

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Idris Kwami, commended the governor for finding them worthy to be appointed as members of the state executive council.

He pledged their loyalty to the government and assured to work hard and justify the confidence reposed on them by the governor.
