A large section of the administrative block at the Police Command headquarters in Kano, has been gutted by fire.
Information about the incident is sketchy as at the time of filing this report.

It was gathered that the fire started from the Provost Office and spread to Finance Department, Conference Room, PPRO Office, Assistant Commissioner (Admin) Office, Deputy Commissioner (Admin) Office, among other offices.

Efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, proved abortive as his phone was switched off and access to the scene of the incident was denied.
However, the Public Relations Officer, Kano Fire Service, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, told Daily Trust that they received a distress call from Patrol and Guard of Hotoro Police Division around 1:20pm and a team of fire rescue swung into action.
He added that while the fire had been brought under control.
