Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has released cut-off marks for admission into the 2021/2022 academic session.

The institution also said it will conduct online screening for all candidates that apply to the institution

The screening, which will replace the aptitude test previously conducted by the university, applies to all the candidates for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) who chose the institution as first choice.

This is according to a statement issued on Friday by the Director of the Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records (DEAR) of the institution, Hajiya Amina Umar Abdullahi, on behalf of the acting Registrar, Malam Jamil Salim.

It said the University pegged 220 and above cut-off marks for programmes in the Faculties of Clinical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences, while Faculties of Allied Health Sciences, Dentistry and Law have their cut off points from 200 and above.

The statement also said the school has approved 180 cut-off marks for programmes in other faculties which are Agriculture, Arts and Islamic Studies, Basic Medical Sciences, Communication, Computer Science and Information Technology, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Education and Engineering.

Others are Life Sciences, Management Sciences, Physical Sciences and Social Sciences.

According to the statement, the online screening will commence on September 3, 2021, and close on September 18, 2021.

“However, the printing of acknowledgement slip will continue up to midnight of 20th September 2021,” the statement added.

Candidates were asked to visit the school’s website: www.buk.edu.ng and click on the ‘2021 UTME/DE online screening exercise’ for registration.

They were also advised to visit any JAMB Office or accredited CBT centre nearest to them to upload their O’Level results.

Daily Trust reports that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) recently canceled general cut-off marks for tertiary institutions.
