JUST IN: APC’s Mukhtar wins Zamfara governorship election

The governorship candidate for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State, Alhaji Mukhtar Shehu Idris, has won the governorship election in the the state.

The Returning Officer for the governorship election in the state, Prof Kabiru Bala, said Alhaji Mukhtar Shehu Idris got 534,541 while his closest opponent, Dr Bello Muhammad Mutawalle of the PDP polled 189,452.

The candidate for the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Senator Dansadau, scored 15,177 while Dr Abdullahi Shinkafi of the APGA garnered 3,865 votes.

“That Mukhtar Shehu Idris of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number votes, is here declared winner and returned elected,” he declared.

The APC candidate got huge votes in Talata Mafara, Gummi, Bakura, Bungudu and Kaura Namoda local government.
