Candidates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the local government elections held on Saturday have been declared winners of all the chairmanship and councillorship seats.
The Chairman of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YOIEC) Dr Mamman Muhammad, made the announcement at the commission’s headquarters in Damaturu on Sunday.
According to him APC won all the 17 local government chairmanship seats and the 178 councillorship seats.
He commended the electorate for ensuring that the polls were free and peaceful.

“APC has won all the 17 chairmanship and 178 councillorship in the local government elections.”
“One Damaturu Local Government, Bukar Adamu of the APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law and scored the majority of valid votes cast at the election, is hereby returned as duly elected” He added.
He added that the commission had received, considered, validated and adopted the results of each of the 178 councillorship of the wards.
