On October 20, 2009, the NJC had received two separate petitions from Bauchi State All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) chairman, Alhaji Sani Shehu (Sanin Malam) and Musa Ibrahim and one other against the state’s Chief Judge, Justice Sabo Darazo.

In two separate letters signed by the Secretary of NJC, Danladi Halilu, with reference numbers NJC/A.7/S.2/XV/352 and NJC/A.7/ S.2/XV/346 sent to the petitioners and copies made available to newsmen yesterday in Jos, the two petitions were considered by the NJC at the end of their meeting in December last year.

The secretary added that after deliberations on the two petitions, council found that the petition were unmeritorious, lacked merit and had absolved Justice Sabo Suleiman Darazo of the allegations there in.
