There was jubilation among the beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer in Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State after they received two months payment.

The 7,000 beneficiaries of the programme got N10,000 stipend of N5,000 per month covering the months of May and June, 2021.

Speaking with Benue/Plateau Trust on the payment, a beneficiary, Caro Clement, said they were selected through the effort of the cooperative group she belonged to.

She thanked the federal government for the gesture and promised to make judicious use of the money.

Another beneficiary, Sani Bello, said the money would help him meet up some pressing and immediate domestic requirements.

A widow, Hassana Salawudeen,  said from the little savings she had made, she had established a petty business with which proceeds she paid her children’s school fees.

The CCT Head of Unit in Plateau State, Hilda Bueyen, said the scheme was a federal government household uplifting programme and a component of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP).
