There was heavy security presence at the Federal High Court, Fate, Ilọrin, on Friday where former Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfattah Ahmed, is being tried by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged misappropriation of N10 billion.

Journalists who arrived at the federal high court premises as early as 7: 00 am were left disappointed as security operatives turned them back.

Same treatment was also meted out to members of the opposition PDP, friends and supporters of the former governor.

Our correspondent reports that security vehicles were strategically manned around the court area.

Armed operatives of the Nigeria Police and other security agencies were also sighted.

The former governor is standing trial over alleged N10billion misappropriation during his eight years tenure as governor.
