Journalist wins N5 million damages against Atiku”s media house

A High Court in Yola has ordered Gotel Communications Limited, a broadcasting house owned by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to pay its former employee, Kabiru Arayu the sum of N5 million in damages.


Arayu had dragged the company before the court for failing to honour a contract agreement he entered with them.

In his ruling on the case, Justice Helen Nuhu of Yola High Court, said Arayu had proven his case inline with section 167 sub section 1.

Huhu ordered the media house to pay Arayu another N1.1 million being balance of his contract payment.

Gotel Communications which operates TV and radio stations is the first private broadcaster  in the north east region
