Unguwan Doki community of Bukuru town, Jos South LGA of Plateau State, has been sensitised on the novel coronavirus and its dangerous effects.
The sensitisation exercise, which centred around prevention of COVID-19, was attended by health personnel, religious and community leaders some of who also made presentations.

Ambassador Aliyu Hassan El Yakub, organiser of the campaign and youth leader of the community, said the essence of the event was to create more awareness on the disease.
“I organised the community awareness campaign on COVID-19 so that members of the community will have the understanding of the disease. Many of them don’t believe it exists but with this awareness campaign, people would be careful and take necessary precautions.
“I invited professionals from the Christian Rural and Urban Development of Nigeria and Imams of my community to help us pass the message. Those invited also used the opportunity to tell us about the effects of street hawking,” he added.
