Jos residents ask INEC to bring PVCs to polling units

The Jasawa Community Development Association (JCDA), Sunday, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to bring the Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to polling units, saying that would enable eligible Nigerians to easily collect them.

The group made the plea through its president, Shehu Ibrahim Masallah, at the general congress of the association held in Jos, where they adopted their constitution.

He said, “INEC has registered Nigerians, including members of our community. Even at registration times, it wasn’t as easy as it should be for the people to get registered because they had to travel some distance in our case before being registered.

“Now that the cards are ready, it is also difficult for the people to get to the Jos North INEC Area Office for collection. We are told by INEC that the cards would be brought to registration areas in each electoral ward, but that is not an easy way for all to get there to collect their cards.”
