Jos Disco pleads for understanding over power blackout

The Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) has asked customers for understanding over the prevailing power outage, saying the development is the direct result of overall system collapse witnessed all over the country.

In a statement signed on his behalf by the Head, Corporate Communications, Dr. Adakole Eleijah, the Managing Director, Mohammed Gidado Modibbo appealed for customers "not to be despaired" by the development.

The terse statement said the federal government and successor companies are working assiduously to resolve the power crisis in the country, once and for all.

"The Managing Director also assured its customers that JEDC PLC is committed toward efficient service delivery," the statement said in part.

JEDC serves four states—Plateau, where it has its headquarters, and Benue, Gombe, as well as Adamawa.
