The statement, signed by the Head, Corporate Communications, Dr Friday Adakole Elijah, quoted the managing director, as saying that the management decided to promote or advance virtually all the staff that had stagnated since the inception of the company in 2013.

According to Mohammed, “We realized after painstaking research that a lot of staffers were demotivated due to lack of promotion or advancement”.

He explained further that, so many staff were denied promotion for upward of eight years, stressing that the situation had contributed negatively to the performance of the company.

“It was obvious that staff were disenchanted with the situation and therefore exhibited a high premium of lackadaisical attitude to the revenue collection of the company by refusing to take ownership of their job roles,” he said.

Mohammed expressed optimism that with the elevations, the company’s fortune would improve tremendously.

He said when things began to improve, all the critical stakeholders, including the staff, would have reason to smile and be proud of working with the Jos Electricity Distribution Plc.

The managing director also disclosed that four new regions have been created to bring the services of the company nearer to the customers, bringing it to a total of 12 regions.

The newly created regions are Yelwa from Bauchi, Tudun Wada from Bukuru, Doma from Gombe and West of Mines from Jos Metro.

Meanwhile, Engr Patrick Dalahol has been appointed as the Acting Head of Regional Operations following the redesignation of Engr John Emeruwa as the Chief Consultant of the company.

Also, Dr Mahmood Abba Misau was redesignated as acting chief of human resources and corporate services while Hafeez Saleh Hassan has been appointed as head of revenue management.
