“My heart bleeds because a lot of people are still homeless and many can’t even feed, so we need everybody, non-governmental organisations and well-meaning individuals to come to their aid,” she said.
Tallen noted that government alone cannot meet the daunting challenges facing the victims, pleading with corporate bodies and public-spirited individuals to lead the trail for government to follow.
She expressed regrets over the crisis, describing it as an ‘unfortunate’ incident that has made the city “to fall apart’’.
The Chairman of the NIPR, Mr Haroun Audu, attributed the recurrent crises in the country to the collapse of family values, regretting that women and children were usually vulnerable to the recurrent crisis.
