The leadership of the business community in Gada Biyu of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State yesterday said all necessary measures are being put in place to protect citizens who do business at the Gada Biyu motor park, as well as those who pass through the area.
Gada Biyu was the area where travellers were intercepted on August 14, and 27 of them killed, an incident that was nationally condenmed with an attendant tension in the state and beyond.
The leadership made the pledge during a meeting with the Chairman of Jos North LGA, Shehu Bala Usman, at the council’s secretariat.
The Chairman of Gada Biyu Traders Union, Lucky Onyebuchi; and his commercial mini buses association counterpart, Akor Christopher, appreciated the chairman for his proactive steps after the crisis.
Mr Usman, who appreciated the contributions and goodwill of the leaderships of various trade unions in Gada Biyu, noted that, “It is against the doctrines of Christianity and Islam to take human life..”
