Danjuma Salihu, a customer at Layin Zana community said, “At first, I was surprised by the development because I have never thought a time will come when we will be given  the meters free.

“Before now, many were fighting on how they will get them but now we were just at home when the staff of the company came and installed them. It is a welcome development.”

Adam Yusuf, another customer in the area was also delighted with the development saying: “The development was long overdue. Now our bill is not going to be estimated.

“It is pay as you go. We hope that there would not be any technical problem in the process. I urge the company to endure constant check.”

Dr. Elijah Friday, head of Corporate Communications of the company told our correspondent that every house would get the meter at no cost, adding that customers should not give any money to anybody and whoever asked them to pay any amount of money for the meters should be reported.

Dr. Elijah assured that all their customers in Plateau, Benue, Bauchi, and Gombe would get the meters at no cost.
