The General Overseer of Evangelical Bible Outreach Ministry International (EBOMI), Prophet Isa El-Buba, yesterday accused the Department of State Services (DSS) of invading his church complex and home on Monday night in an attempt to arrest him over comments he made against President Muhammadu Buhari.
Prophet El-Buba who owns the tallest building in Jos and is a very close associate of former Governor Jonah Jang, told journalists at a press conference that his failed arrest was an attempt to whisk him away to Abuja following a crossover broadcast he made.
He said a team of the DSS arrived his Church building while he was preparing for a mid-night fellowship service with members of his evangelical fellowship, adding that he had demanded for a letter of invitation and was not given.
“After much argument with the DSS team and the demonstration by members of my fellowship against the arrest without any warrant, I was told to report to the Jos DSS office for questioning by 11 am on Tuesday.
“They came in their numbers including the Deputy Director that they wanted to have me. My attempted arrest was based on the crossover national broadcast to Nigerians. But I am notý scared because I am saying the truth. Righteousness exalts a nation. But sin will bring reproach,” he said.
Our correspondent who visited the DSS office in Jos learnt that El-Buba had been invited to the office on Monday and that he had promised to show up at the office on Tuesday.
One of the DSS agents told Daily Trust that they were surprised to learn that instead of honouring the promise he made, El-Buba had organised a press conference.
