Former President Goodluck Jonathan was among early callers yesterday at the residence of his uncle, Chief Inengite Ntabai who was released by his abductors on Tuesday.
Also among the visitors were the paramount ruler of Otuoke, King Lot Ogiasa, King George Lawson, the clan head of Ogbia kingdom, chiefs of Otuoke and other locals.
Chief Ntabai, 72, was abducted by armed gunmen on February 17 from his house at Otuoke. Chief Inegite expressed happiness over his freedom from the kidnappers when the ex-president visited, according to family sources at the meeting who also said the old chief expressed shock over the death of his nephew, Samuel Oki who was abducted along with him but who lost his life in the hands of the kidnappers.
The sources said Chief Negite told Jonathan that the kidnappers came with two speed boats and abducted them, adding that he had appealed to the kidnappers to free the young man, but unknown to him the kidnappers killed him.
