Jonathan denies bid for 2023 presidency

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has denied online reports that he said he was under intense pressure to contest the 2023 presidency.

Jonathan also denied saying that he was billed to be allotted the presidential ticket of the peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the poll.

The fomer President’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Ikechukwu Eze, told Daily Trust yesterday that the reports were incorrect and untrue.

He explained that some online platforms were bent on publishing malicious stories based on insinuations, adding that Jonathan did not make such comments about 2023.

“There was nothing like former President Jonathan saying he is under pressure to contest,” he said.
