Daily Trust gathered that the gunmen opened fire on sighting the security team, which responded swiftly killing four, while others fled.

This came a day after vigilantes and hunters arrested some bandits in different locations across the State.

Daily Trust reports that the Abuja-Lokoja and Lokoja-Okene highway has come under the grip of kidnappers and bandits lately.

Irked by the development, the State government had deployed hunters and vigilantes to compliment the effort of the police and other security agencies.

The security adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello, Navy Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd) told our reporter that the effort is beginning to yield the intended outcome.

When contacted, the state police command spokesman, DSP William Aya, however, said that he will contact the appropriate quarters and get back to our correspondent.

He is yet to do so as at the time of filing this report.
