Dutse, the capital of Jigawa, remained silent on Saturday morning, after the election regulator INEC postponed voting on election day.

The bustle of the city is absent.

The usual heavy traffic of commercial motorcyclists in the busiest Hakimi street of the state capital is also at its lowest ebb as only dotted of them could be seen plying the road.

Shops and other business outlets along Takur Adua road also remained under lock and key as only dotted of the residents of the area are seen in groups discussing the unfolding development.

Oone of the commercial motorcyclists, Usman Dan’auta, said majority of them are not residents of the state capital adding, they live in the neighbouring villages.
