Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa State have discovered an unconscious man suspected to have been dumped by hoodlums by the roadside in Kiyawa LGA.
In a statement, the command’s spokesman in the state, Adamu Shehu, said, “Today being Monday, 6th day of March, 2023, at around 0600hrs the command received a distress call from one Malam Wadari, Ward Head of Mabara, a village under Andaza town, Kiyawa LGA, that he received a report of an unconscious man lying by the roadside with a cable tied to his neck.
“He was later identified as Umar Ibrahim, aged 58, a resident of Sarari village, Sakwaya, Dutse LGA. He was on his way to make purchases at Shuwarin Market.”
He said that on arrival at the scene, the NSCDC medical team observed that a cable was used around the neck of the victim in order to suffocate him and that blood was coming out from his mouth, adding that he was rushed to the Dutse General Hospital.
He explained that after regaining consciousness, the man narrated that he boarded a taxi from Takur Adduah Quarters in Dutse metropolis with three other passengers.
She further said, “He added that he was in possession of N97,000 which he was to buy grains at the Shuwari Monday Market. He said he could not say how it all happened, but only found himself on a hospital bed.”
