The Jigawa Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the April 11 election, Malam Aminu Ringim lost his Marakawa 008 polling unit to General Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress. The PDP however won senate at the polling unit.
