The 11 members of the House of Representatives from Jigawa State have thrown their weight behind Femi Gbajabiamila for speakership of the House of Representatives.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected members, the Member representing Ringim/Taura, Ado Sani Kiri, explained the decision they reached in a phone interview with Daily Trust.
“Our support for Gbajabiamila is not negotiable,” Kiri said.
According to him, all the members from the state were elected on the platform of the APC, and added that they were ready to abide by the position of the party.
He argued that they would not fold their arms and see a repeat of what happened in 2015, saying there was nothing wrong in upholding the party’s supremacy in as much it was for the common good.
