The Jigawa State Executive Council has approved the purchase of Khadija University, Maji’a, for N11 billion, as part of Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s 12-Point Agenda to improve education across the state.
At a meeting chaired by the governor, the council also approved N411.8 million for water projects across 23 constituencies, N400 million counterpart funds for the Partnership for Extended WASH (PEWASH) Programme, N1.25 billion for 20 combine harvesters to boost agricultural production.
State Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture, Sagir Musa Ahmad said “The purchase of Khadija University will enhance access to quality education in Jigawa State,”
The university purchase includes an initial 40% payment of N4.07 billion, with the remaining 60% to be paid in two installments.

The water projects will provide clean water to rural communities, while the combine harvesters will support farmers in the state.
“Governor Namadi’s administration is committed to improving the lives of Jigawa State citizens,” Ahmad added.
