Jigawa flood victims get grains, noodles

As part of an effort to assist flood victims in Jigawa State, Je-Je Riders of Nigeria, in collaboration with NOTORE Company Limited, has donated relief materials worth millions of naira to them.

Delivering the materials on Tuesday, the Chairman of Je-Je Riders, Dr Muhammad Garba Mainasara, assured that more assistance would come to the victims next year.

Daily Trust reports that the groups donated 200 bags of grains and 200 cartons of Indomie noodles to 200 households.

Receiving the materials on behalf of the Jigawa State Governor, Muhammadu Badaru Abubakar, the Deputy Governor, Namadi Umar (Danmodi), appreciated the gesture and assured that the materials would be handed over to the victims.

Danmodi noted that Jigawa was the worst hit by the flood in the country, where over 100 people died and thousands rendered homeless, adding that over 400,000 farmlands were washed away and roads and bridges cut off.

He called on other groups and philanthropists to continue assisting the victims in the state so that they would come back to their normal life.
