Jigawa fixes June, 29 for councils election

The Jigawa State Independent Electoral Commission (JISIEC) has slated June, 29 for the conduct of this year’s local government councils election in the state.

The Chairman of the Commission, Mohammed Sani Ahmad, made this know today during a stakeholders meeting in Dutse, saying the Commission had since concluded all the preliminary process, preparatory to the conduct of the election.

He further explained that his commission had since released the time table of activities ahead of the slated date of the election, adding that the sales of the nomination forms would commence on April, 22 while verification of candidates from various political parties was fixed for May, 26.
