Jigawa distributes motorcycles to school inspectors

Jigawa state government, has distributed 218 motorcycles to schools surpervisors in order to improve on monitoring of teachers.

The motorcycles, were distributed through, the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).

Speaking at the occasion, the state Commissioner for Education, Rabi Ishak, said the measure was taken to ensure that the standard of education in the state was repositioned to meet the present trend.

According to her, the state government came up with the initiatives for ensuring not only supervision was improved but also the provision of instructional materials, work force and infrastructure for better standard of education in the state.

“The state government has, since its inception in 2015, made several interventions in the basic education sector. The government constructed and renovated over 5,000 classrooms, recruited, 1200 teachers and provided instructional materials for conducive learning.

In his remark, the Executive Secretary of SUBEB, Salisu Zakar said the motorcycles were distributed to some inspection officers across the 27 local government areas of the state.

He added that government had also made a provision for maintenance allowance to be paid monthly to the inspectors and warned any one found misusing the motorcycles would be punished.
