Jigawa deputy governor wins senatorial seat

The Jigawa State deputy governor, Barrister Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia and candidate for Jigawa North East Senatorial District on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), has been declared the winner after polling 184,185 votes against his opponent, the serving senator, Ubale Shitu, who scored, 103,039 votes.

Announcing the result in Hadejia, the Returning Officer, Professor Ahmed Garko, said Kaugama Garba of Social Democratic party (SDP), scored 14, 697, Ibrahim Mahmud of ADC got 363, Jamilu Usman of DA got 218 while Abdullahi Muhammad of PPC got 179 votes.
