The youth wing of Jama’atu Uzalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), said it has freed no fewer than 49 inmates in Jos correctional centres during the last month of Ramadan.
The National Chairman of the youth wing, Ustaz Murtala Idris Malwa, made the disclosure at the end of this year’s annual national lectures, themed; “Peaceful coexistence and Muslim leadership,” in Jos.

He said part of the activities and mandates of the JIBWIS youth wing, was to be visiting correctional centres across the country to preach to the youths to understand their core values as human beings and the dangers of involving in any kind of criminal activities.
“We have visited correctional centres in all states of Northern Nigeria, except those of Borno and Yobe. We were also in Cross River and Rivers States. We have been preaching and providing some support to the inmates and also paid for the release of some inmates in Jos correctional centre as well as Lafia, Kaduna and Kano,” he added.
The group’s National Chairman, Council of Ulama, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, admonished those in position of leadership to fear Allah in the discharge of their duties.
