The National Chairman of Ulama’u Council of Jama’atu Izalatil Bidah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheik Sani Yahaya Jingir, has called on the federal and state governments to create more awareness on COVID-19 vaccines which the federal government is preparing to administer in the country.

He made the call during a press briefing held at the headquarters of the group in Jos.

Sheik Jingir said, “Government should not hastily accept or reject the COVID-19 vaccines until it ascertains their genuineness and their usefulness on our lives as masses who Allah has entrusted the government to safeguard.

“Therefore, the government should not enact any law that will affect the life of a person.”

He further said many Nigerians had doubts about the vaccines and therefore should not be forced to take them.
