The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) has consoled the families of the late Army Chief, Ibrahim Attahiru, and 10 others.
National leader of the Islamic group, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, at a press briefing held at JIBWIS’s headquarters, in Jos, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to be meticulous in selecting the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

Sheik Jingir said the country needed vibrant, competent, and sincere COAS who would help to tackle the current insecurity bedeviling the county.
The cleric said: “We have indeed lost a giant that would take time to replace. The army chief left when the country is seriously in need of his service.
“Attahiru’s death was painful. It is a loss to the entire country. Though he didn’t stay long, he had achieved a lot within his short time as Chief of Army Staff. I prayed Allah, to console the families of the dead soldiers, while also praying for the repose of their souls.
“I am also supplicating that Allah will help us, get some other good officers that would work as good as those that have died, or even better than what they were able to achieve so that we can have improved security in this country,” he prayed.
He further called on the acting Inspector General of Police and his commissioners to work hard to ensure that criminals were trailed and apprehended rather than telling Nigerians to be vigilant alone.
