T he Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari over marketing of Nigerian youths during his official working visit to China.
President Buhari has on Wednesday marketed Nigerian youths in the international market when he spoke with prospective Chinese investors in a separate meeting.
During the meeting Buhari was reported to have averred that Nigerian youths are very energetic, innovative and ready to work.
The group made the commendations at the weekend in Jos through its National Chairman, Ulama’u Council, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir during the commissioning of an international school and mosque built by Alhaji Abubakar Sulaiman – a business man and philanthropist.
In his remarks, Sheikh Jingir lamented that Nigerian media and some politicians were busy lambasting Buhari left, right and centre when he criticised Nigerian youths during his panel appearance with World Leaders at the Commonwealth Business Forum in London some months ago, but now as the president marketed youths both media and politicians were quiet.
“As long we can criticise someone for making mistake, we ought to commend him for doing the right thing. Even though Buhari was misquoted during his panel appearance in London, but media and some politicians were busy castigating him, now he marketed our youths they are all mute. This is hypocrisy.” He said.
Sheikh Jingir challenged Media to hype marketing of Nigerian youths by President Buhari in China, as they hyped the criticism when he was misquoted about saying Nigerian youths are ‘lazy’ in London.
