Jealous student cuts into throat of campus lover

A student of the Department of Leisure and Tourism of the Adamawa State Polytechnic Yola has sliced into the throat of his lover for seeing another man.

Witness accounts indicated that the lover, identified  as Luka Shuaibu and popularly known as Presido, attacked his girlfriend, Witness Ishaya, with a knife near her hostel shortly after her new boyfriend dropped her at the school gate.

Our reporter learned that Luka hid himself in the dark around the female hostel and inflicted a deep cut to her throat before her scream attracted fellow students who rescued her and rushed  her to the hospital.

Confirming the incident to journalists on phone, the information officer of the Polytechnic, Albert Matilah, said the victim was responding to treatment at a medical facility.

When Contacted, the spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command, Othman Abubakar said although he was aware of the incident, it had not been reported to the police.
