JAIZ Bank out-gone MD grew profitability by over 40% – Mutallab

The immediate past Managing Director/CEO of Jaiz Bank Plc, Mallam Hassan Usman, grew the bank’s profitability by over 40 per cent during his tenure, the Chairman, Board of Directors, Jaiz Bank Alh. Umaru Mutallab has said. 

Alh. Mutallab added that Mallam Usman said he also grew the business by more than 35 per cent. 

He spoke on Monday in Abuja at the dinner to celebrate Mallam Usman as he successfully completed his tenure at the bank.

“We may not yet describe ourselves as a mainstream bank, but we are well on course to achieving that. Within the past six years, we grew the business at 3 compound average of more than 35% per annum. Profitability grew at an average of more than 40% on an annual basis within this same period” he said. 

He added that the bank started paying dividends to shareholders in 2019, and has continued to do so till now, in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He further stated that although the bank has achieved much in the last few years, “Jaiz Bank is still a work in progress as the values that we have brought to the Nigerian business landscape have been enormously demonstrated. The significance of our impact in the country is such that the federal government adopted the Sukuk, our facility model, in raising funds for infrastructure development” he stated further.

The current Managing Director of the Bank Dr Sirajo Salisu said he had enjoyed working with him even as he enjoyed Mallam Usman’s trust and confidence.
