Jaiz Bank Plc has partnered with CANs Park Ltd and other firms to create a platform that makes it easy for relief providers to seamlessly access and grant relief to the most vulnerable people in society.

The Relief Intervention and Symptoms Evaluation (RISE) platform was launched in Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), while more states are in view, the bank said.

Jaiz said it was part of its efforts to provide palliatives as a response to the social and economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

Under the platform, relief seekers now have an easier and more secure way to reach relief providers with their requests.

It is a web and USSD application that connects relief providers to relief seekers within their location.

The platform would aid the reduction of mass gathering for relief distribution and support the gathering of data on crisis-related needs and intervention requirements, and help organisations to organise the records of their efforts in one place.

Relief seekers can request relief materials which can be delivered to them after they have been matched to a relief provider within their location.

Using demographic data, the platform connects relief providers with relief recipients that match their location and category of relief provision.

Post-COVID19, the app will continue to serve as a platform for organisations to reach vulnerable individuals.

“We are also leveraging a volunteer network currently driven by the YALI Network to handle delivery of relief materials for providers who desire to remain anonymous, and gather information where inhabitants may not be able to navigate the platform to make requests,” it said.
